Eastport Strings

December 2010 Concert
Eastport Strings is a non-profit community, children's strings ensemble directed by Alice St. Clair. The ensemble meets every Saturday morning to rehearse for upcoming concerts. The group consists of violinists, violists, cellists, and double-bassists, most of them taught by Alice.
The Eastport Strings was founded in 2001 by Alice and her friend and colleague Gregory Biss. In the past ten years the Eastport Strings has grown from 8 to more than 25 members. The ensemble moved rehearsals from a participating family's living-room to the spacious Eastport Arts Center (see below)!
The Eastport Strings performs an eclectic range of music including classical, rock, fiddle, and even home-made (group composed). Several locals from Eastport's artistic community, including Greg Biss, Henry Schuth and Frank Schuth, have arranged pieces for this group of talented players to perform.
